Aloha, I am Kumu Jeff Canion. I moved to Hilo in 2004. I am not a Teacher by profession but I do have teaching experience at the post secondary level where I taught part-time Engineering Technology classes in the evening. I was employed as a Design Engineer, Senior Engineering Manager and Director of Engineering. I worked for several Silicon Valley companies; Advanced Micro Devices, Cypress Semiconductor, Ricoh Corporation and Mitsubishi Electric to name a few. I have worked in the engineering sector for over 23 years and traveled to India, Japan, China, South America and Europe. Presently as a High School Engineering Pathway Academy Teacher, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to inspire students into emerging STEAM related career paths and opportunities.
